Tomlinsons Yorkshire Rhubarb.

At this Time of year over in Pudsey West Yorkshire, very special food is grown by candlelight in dark sheds ready for harvest – Tomlinsons Yorkshire Rhubarb, which has been grown at the farm for four generations.

Grown in dark sheds by candlelight, a process that prevents photosynthesis. Giving the Forced Yorkshire Rhubarb the deep red stalk colouring and intense flavour, famed worldwide and used by every chef for just a few months of the year.

Every year we spend this season driving over to the farm to visit the family and collecting the rhubarb for our menu. We feature it on current dishes & drinks – as well as preserving it in various forms for use across the year. We even produced our very own Forced Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin back in 2022!

‘Fourth generation grower of Yorkshire forced rhubarb, growing kale, cabbage, cauli, chard, lettuce, squash and other wonderful things’

On last weeks visit to the famous Yorkshire Rhubarb farm, Luke took our current dessert and prepared the dish in the Rhubarb shed for Robert, Paula and Family to try.

The family work around the clock at this time of year, to get the very best rhubarb there is, harvested to be eaten around the world and so Luke decided to take along a delicious treat for them to enjoy!

Our dessert will be on the menu for the next couple of months – so come on down and give this world famous rhubarb a go!
