JÖRO Restaurant & Rooms does not classify as a fine dining establishment. In fact we try our hardest to deliver a unique relaxed modern dining experience, perfect for every occasion, that is far away from a stereotypical fine dining service. Offering tasting menus in 2023 does not mean ‘fine dining’.
There are no table cloths, our decor is urban and modern, our service is relaxed, informal and friendly. We play indie, rock n roll, jazz, hip hop, electronic music. Our music and volume is adapted to the vibe in the restaurant on that service.
We have always been this way! We are awarded and credited on this – it is part of what makes our restaurant successful.
Please take the time to look at this and if it doesn’t sound to your taste, please don’t come! There are plenty of restaurants that offer the opposite to us – visit them instead.

Our Premium menu option features 2 additional dishes, with the inclusion of some of the seasons more premium produce, for example hand dived scallops. The extra dishes change throughout the year in line with seasonal availability.
Guests who would prefer longer time allocations should book at 2pm, 2:15pm, 8:15pm or 8:30pm. If you are late arriving to your reservation, you may miss part of your experience.

Please note price increases take effect for new bookings made in March onwards, for reservations 1st April onwards annually. Our increases reflect the overall financial impact of rising running costs.

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate the following dietary requirements due to the nature of our tasting menu. This is applicable to both our restaurant and rooms. Certain ingredients feature considerably heavily and it is therefore not possible for us to avoid/remove them:

Vegetarian and pescatarian menus are available with advance notification. We may be able to accommodate for other dietary requirements and allergies to a certain degree and at our discretion however we are unable to cater for severe allergies, due to the intimate nature of our kitchen and restaurant. We advise you email us at bookings@jororestaurant.co.uk to check with us, prior to making your reservation.
Please note any accepted dietary requirements/allergies in the special requests box when booking and specify if these are preferences, intolerances or allergies and how many guests the requirements apply to.
We ask to be notified about dietaries with at least 48 hours advance notice prior to your booking date. If we do not receive this notice we will not be able to provide you with a menu or breakfast if staying. We may be unable to provide a menu for walk in tables without advance notice.
JÖRO RESTAURANT
A credit or debit card is required to make all reservations.
Due to the intimate size of our restaurant we operate a cancellation policy, guests are required to provide a deposit of £50 per table to secure the reservation.
The cancellation fee reflects the cost of food, drink and staffing incurred by us in anticipation of the booking and loss of revenue from the empty table.
All cancellations require advance notification of at least 48 hours via email; otherwise a fee of at least £50 per reservation will be applicable. The same charge will apply to no-shows.
In the event of a cancellation within 48 hours of the arrival date we will keep the whole payment as a cancellation charge. If we are able to re-let the booking we will refund the payment. In the event of a cancellation outside of 48 hours of the arrival date, we will refund the payment. Cancellations at any time will be subject to a £1.50 processing fee. Reservations that are transferred to a new date will not be subject to the processing fee.
The processing fee is reflective of the cost to us from our payment provider for taking your payment:
Application fees: £0.60 Stripe processing fees: £0.90
Within seven days prior to your reservation, our team will contact you to reconfirm your booking. If we have not received reconfirmation from you at least 24 hours prior to your reservation time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and resell your table.
HOUSE OF JÖRO
A 50% per room per night booking deposit will be taken at the time of the booking.
We operate a 7 day cancellation policy for rooms. Should you fail to cancel your reservation at least 7 days prior to your arrival then the full cost of your accommodation will be deducted from your credit card as a cancellation fee. The same charges will apply to no-shows. If the booking is cancelled at least 7 days prior to your reservation date, the 50% deposit will be refunded.
Please note, any deposit refunds due to cancellation will be subject to a £1.50 processing fee unless otherwise agreed.
We offer an optional set price drinks pairings alongside our tasting menus. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic (subject to availability).
This consists of drinks we feel complement and enhance the dishes on our tasting menu and is not restrictive to just wine.
It’s also a great way of trying different flavours or products you may not have experienced before.
Pre-booking is not required and our team will talk you through the options on arrival.
We now have a bar for pre-dinner drinks, upstairs at 1.3 Krynkl. Our bar SHÖP is open Wednesday – Saturday from 12pm or 5pm and serves a selection of drinks from the restaurant as well as an enhanced sake range.
Also in Krynkl you can find NOOK bar and Kelu Roof Bar open for drinks on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
Are available to purchase online and will be posted to you or your recipient viaTracked 48 Royal Mail delivery or click and collect. These come with 12 months expiry.
When booking in with a voucher, please note a deposit is still required to book, however this is refundable on your visit.
The restaurant and rooms are closed on Sunday’s, Monday’s and Tuesday’s. Therefore any enquiries made to us will not be responded to until we return on Wednesday’s.
Where possible we prefer email communications as our team spend the majority of their time with our guests during service. We monitor emails throughout the day.
Calling us Wednesday – Saturday between 10am – 12pm / 3:30pm – 6pm is recommended for telephone.

Due to the intimate size of our restaurant, the maximum table size we can accommodate on one table is 8 guests. At our discretion and providing we have availability, we can accommodate a larger group up to 12 guests across two separate tables.
We do offer private reservations in our restaurant on Thursday or Friday Lunchtimes for parties up to 26 guests. Please email us to enquire. Alternatively we have our 10 seat private chefs table at House of JÖRO guest rooms.
Our restaurant has a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We want you to be comfortable in our home, therefore we do not have a dress code policy.
A discretionary 10% service charge is added to all bills and is shared in whole, between our team. Service charge at JÖRO is viewed as an opportunity to reward the team. It does not form part of our wage structure.
We welcome children of all ages to experience JÖRO, please bare in mind we don’t however offer a children’s menu.
We don’t have allocated parking for the restaurant or House of JÖRO.
The nearest NCP to us is a 1 minute walk from the restaurant; Ebenezer Street Car Park. Alternatively kelham island offers plenty of on street parking which is free of charge. Please note on weekdays at lunchtime the area will be quite busy for on street parking.
All roads around House of JÖRO offer parking however some restrictions apply.

We can accommodate small well behaved dogs, but due to the size of the restaurant we ask you to contact us in advance to discuss, before making your reservation. This is applicable to both our restaurant and rooms.
This does not apply to guide or assistance dogs, where all sizes are of course welcome.
