Description
A winery established in 2002 by Chris Brockman who moved from Nebraska to California, initially he was put off by this region due to the dominance of ‘bigger being better’, producing high alcohol, heavy reds; instead he opted for organic wine making focussing on more finesse. For instance using cover crops such as native wheats & different fruit trees to reduce sun exposure and drought.
The wine has a really concentrated mousse for a Pet Nat, this vintage was seen as an opportunity to blend everyday drinking with something that felt more sophisticated. This negociant bottle is a blend from two vineyards spending a few hours on the skins with the Chenin must in the tank, helping to add towards the wines textured palate.
95% Chenin and a touch of Muscat which adds to the wine’s perfumed aromas.
