HEAD CHEF KITCHEN MANAGER | KONJÖ
LOCATION: Kelham Island S3, SHEFFIELD
Job Summary
We have an exciting opening to lead our kitchen at newly relocated Konjö Sheffield. Our street food sister restaurant to JÖRO. In January we moved Konjö into our original restaurant location at Krynkl, Kelham Island. We are looking for a strong leader who can look after the kitchen operations.
Konjö has been operating for 5 years and is at the start of its new journey from street food kitchens into restaurant. Thursday – Sunday Working week. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, production, and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team and maintain a positive kitchen environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team in daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
- Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining the restaurant’s identity.
- Oversee food preparation processes to ensure adherence to food safety standards and regulations.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
- Collaborate with Restaurant management on budgeting and cost control measures to optimise profitability.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor food presentation and quality to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and production methods.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for cooking with a creative approach to menu development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff and management.
